Si por error borraron la contraseña de la cuenta principal en Ubuntu y quieren reestablecerla, simplemente abren un un terminal y escriben

passwd

Como la cuenta principal no tiene contraseña, no le va a pedir validarse y de inmediato les pedirá que ingresen dos veces la nueva contraseña.
